There was a big article in the news paper today.
Multiple witnesses (business owners in that area) claimed that they got what they deserved according to the news paper article. Almost running over people etc.
I don't pity the kids if a cop tells you to stop and you sprint off you are resisting arrest and deserve to get arrested.

ya...douche bags give me hell on my bike there too...if you rev up at all, they'll pull you over about being too loud....................and then a gang of 20 harleys drives by and he has to yell over them to talk to me..
that's where Dusty and Jordan are from...I think they know them?

that was a big part of the article. The officers would give out tons of verbal warnings to the individuals who would skate board, but when 10 people go down the street they tried to stop them and it got way out of hand. From what I remember from the article that street is one of the few streets that you aren't allowed to board down. It's like ego problemson street. There is a lot of foot traffic. Which is why I understand there is an ordinance for not skating.

dude, there are ALWAYS cops on the strip downtown.........."No Skateboarding" signs are present in mass numbers in that area........ the kids should have been skating the righteous alleys the dirty spa has to offer............ and the police should have been about 2 miles northeast assaulting the drug addicts on Park Ave.........

The cops were being kind of rough on the kids and I think the ole cop shop should find something better to do than arrest skateboarding kids. Though the ones that fled did get what they deserve, people need to learn not to run from cops. Maybe instead of enforcing and ordience that strictly, the city should fund some kind of municipal skate park and give the kids a place to go.

I am familiar with some of the kids involved via association. I know the street they were on. I am mixed. HS cops are a little over zealous in a lot of instances, and yeah, they should be over on Park or up on Orange. But, it's a no boarding street for a reason, and they have a LOT better places to board than upper Central. Heck, I'd rather run down Prospect than Central in the middle of tourist season. Well, I would like to ride Prospect anyway...
